The submission period for the applications of the films for the Second BOSI FEST BelgradeInternational Film Festival For and By People with Disabilities 2011 is officially prolongeduntil 20th April 2011.

The submission period for applications is prolonged due to the technical requirements ofthe International Festival in order that all interested parties could prepare and send theirworks on time.

Which will be held between 3rd – 5th June, 2011 in Dom Omladine, Belgrade, Makedonska Street 22/IV , Belgrade, Serbia.

This year’s slogan is View, movement, life and the topics are: Culture, sport, tourism, education, work and life of people with disabilities.

Applications will be accepted between 25th February and 28th March, 2011

The official selection will be announced until 20th April, 2011

The festival is competitive, the whole programme consisting of competitive and non-competitive part.

Apart from the main awards, the audience award will also be given.

AWARDS:

  • The best film, Grand Prix BOSI FEST 2011
  • The best directing
  • The best script, and
  • The audience award.

The festival is organized by Hendi Centar Koloseum

The festival has been supported by The Serbian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Belgrade City Council, Department for Culture, OSI council at the Mayor’s Office, Municipality of Stari Grad, Municipality of Vračar.

Besides its wish to show artistic achievements, the festival is striving not only towards presenting everyday experiences and personal problems of people with disabilities, the attitude of the general public, social and economic position they hold as a minority, but also wishes to encourage reception and implementation of positive international practice in overcoming social exclusion; it wishes to indicate possible aims, directions and instruments that could promote further development of democratic society and every individual who, their differences accepted, has the right and obligation to create within the society he lives in.

Application Eligibility and Rules

  1. Open to all interested applicants
  2. Genre: features and documentaries dealing with the issues concerning people with disabilities
  3. Duration: up to 90 minutes
  4. The works must be in English or with Serbian/English subtitles
  5. The works have to have been produced within the past 5 years
  6. The application deadline is 28th March. Without any exceptions.
  7. All the video works must be in DVD format
  8. The festival organization can use up to a minute of the submitted work for the purposes of advertising
  9. The jury is to receive a minimum of 2 copies of the work and all the copies will be kept by the festival.

Supporting material:

  • Synopsis or a textual expose (100 to 200 words)
  • Dialogue list (if there is one)
  • The author’s biography and photography
  • The following data: the author’s year and place of birth, occupation, place of residence and contact (phone and e-mail)
